Return policy (Right of withdrawal)

We want you to be happy with your tools. If a product is not what you hoped for, you can return it easily. This policy describes your legal right of withdrawal and the conditions under which you can exercise it.

1. Withdrawal period

As a Consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days, without having to justify your decision and without additional costs other than those set out below, in accordance with OUG no. 34/2014.

2. How the period is calculated

The withdrawal period starts on the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you other than the carrier, take physical possession of the products. If you ordered several products in a single order and they are delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last product.

If we did not inform you of the right of withdrawal, the legal 14-day period is extended by 12 months, as provided by law.

3. How to exercise your right

To withdraw, inform us of your decision by an unequivocal statement before the period expires. You can:

  • use the model withdrawal form at the end of this page; or
  • send us any other clear statement (for example by e-mail).

Send your request to vanzari@sculedepot.ro, stating the order number and the products you wish to return. We will confirm receipt of your request without delay and send you the return instructions.

You may also bring the products in person to our business location in Pantelimon (Bd. Biruinței nr. 302, Pantelimon, Ilfov county, postal code 077145), Monday–Friday 09:00–16:00.

4. How to return the products, and in what condition

You must return the products without undue delay and within 14 days at the latest from the date on which you informed us of your withdrawal.

You are entitled to open the packaging and to examine and test the product in order to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, as you could do in a physical shop. This inspection does not include actually using the product for work, mounting or permanently installing it, or using it beyond what is necessary for the inspection.

You must return the products complete, with all accessories, manuals and documents received. We strongly recommend that you use the original packaging: missing or damaged packaging does not prevent you from exercising your right of withdrawal, but it makes you liable for any diminished value of the product, under the conditions below. You are liable for any diminished value of the products resulting from handling them other than as necessary for the inspection described above; in such a case we deduct the amount of this diminished value from the refund. Examples: visible signs of use, mounting or operation; missing accessories or seals; damage to the original packaging beyond what is necessary to inspect the product. Where, for these reasons, the product can no longer be sold as new, the diminished value may represent a substantial part of the product price.

We recommend a courier service that allows parcel tracking. We do not accept parcels returned cash on delivery, nor returns that involve going to a collection point. We are not liable for parcels that are inadequately packed, lost or damaged in transit to us.

5. Cost of return

The direct cost of returning the products is borne by you, except where the product delivered was wrong, damaged or non-conforming — in which case the return is at our expense.

6. Refund

We refund all amounts received from you, including standard delivery costs, without undue delay and within 14 days at the latest from the date on which we were informed of your decision to withdraw.

The refund is made using the same means of payment you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any case, you will not incur any fees as a result of the refund. For orders paid cash on delivery or by bank transfer, the refund is made by bank transfer to the account you indicate.

If you chose a delivery method more expensive than the standard delivery we offer, we are not obliged to refund the additional costs exceeding standard delivery.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the products back or until you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is the earliest.

7. Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

Under art. 16 of OUG no. 34/2014, the right of withdrawal does not apply, among others, to:

  • products made to your specifications, personalised, or brought in on special order;
  • sealed products which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and which were unsealed after delivery;
  • products which, after delivery, are inseparably mixed with other items;
  • sealed audio/video recordings or computer software, once unsealed.

Most of the tools and equipment we sell are covered by the right of withdrawal; the exceptions above apply only in the specific situations described by law.

8. Returns outside the withdrawal period

We are under no legal obligation to accept returns of orders after the 14-day withdrawal period provided in point 1 has expired. In certain situations we may nevertheless accept such a return, subject to a penalty calculated according to the loss resulting from reselling the product as an open-box (returned) item; the minimum penalty is 30% of the product value.

The decision to accept and, where applicable, the amount of the penalty are communicated to you by e-mail no later than 72 hours (3 working days) after we receive the return request. In these cases, the refund is made no later than 30 days after the return is accepted.
